4th Grade Imaginative Narrative Prompt
You go to bed as you do every night, but this time something strange happens as you fall asleep. In the middle of your sleep you wake up and you are now on another planet. This planet is not like the one you are from though. This planet is made completely out of a specific type of rock. In order for you to leave this planet and journey on to the next, you must figure out which type of rock the planet is made up of. You must travel to all three planets made up of metamorphic, sedimentary, and igneous rocks. When determining what planet you are on you must add specific details about the rock type.
Be sure to include:
  • composition of the rock
  • how they are formed
  • the process that created the rock
Make sure the paper follows a clear and organized structure when traveling to the different planets

Reflection:
I really believe that the voice thread is an unique and beneficial tool that I would be able to use in the future for my own classroom. Whether it be in an Elementary School setting where the students would all collaborate with my assistance to make a classroom voicethread, different groups work on different threads, just to have a book shown to them using this, or in a high school setting where the students would complete the assignment as we did this project could be very effective. I thought that the interface of the voice thread was very effective just as much as it was a solid completed product. The voicethread would provide the students with an opportunity to produce work in more ways than just the typical papers they will turn in frequently. The only minor problem I had with making the thread was I had forgotten I needed to click on the comment tab in order to record, but this realization came within five minutes of realizing that was all I needed to do. For the future as well as for this individual assignment I think the voicethread was and will be a tool that is enjoyed and will be used more, certainly. The recording and adding of personal media provides limitless creativity components that students may not receive. Being relative to 21st century education this has many elements of the criteria within the skills of very apparent technology integration, critical thinking, and possibility for collaboration. As a simple tool and all the benefits that came back with my first experience with this I don't see any real negative remarks.
